Measuring your window is essential in ensuring you get the right size blind for your space. Here are some tips on how to measure your windows.
First, measure the width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in three places (top, middle, and bottom). Ensure you measure to the nearest 1/8th of an inch, and always list width first when writing down measurements. Then, measure the exact height (top to bottom) at three places: left side, middle, and right side. Again, make sure you measure accurately and record all measurements.
When measuring for an inside mount blind, you must measure each side of the window frame separately. This means measuring from one side of the frame to another and from top to bottom. For an outside mount blind, measure from one end of where you want it mounted to another end and from top to bottom. Add at least 3 inches for overlap (1-1/2″ per side) for optimum light control and privacy when measuring outside mount blinds.
You must take accurate measurements so your new window blind fits perfectly into your space without any issues. If you are unsure how best to take measurements or need help with installation once your order arrives, consider hiring a professional who can assist with these tasks.
Measuring your window correctly is key when selecting a new window blind for your home. Following the steps outlined above, you can ensure your new purchase fits perfectly into its designated space without any issues!
